Habitat for birds, especially cavity nesting songbirds, has been steadily diminishing for decades. Forest fires in the west have decimated millions of acres, so we thought building birdhouses might help. It may seem like a very small thing, but it's our passion. We build solid, well designed nest boxes that are also aesthetically enjoyable.
Each birdhouse is crafted to give a lifetime of visual pleasure, but designed with the health and safety of the birds first and foremost.
Our "nestboxes" are made from reclaimed cedar or redwood, which are naturally weather, insect, and rot resistant.
The wood is nominally 3/4" thick, providing insulation from both heat and cold. There are no "balconies" or "perches" to give predators access.​
​All wood is left natural and unfinished on the inside. Polished driftwood fronts are hand rubbed with non-toxic teak oil.

  • Air vents allow for ventilation through wall and floor openings.

  • Many styles have a predator guard  which extends the entrance hole to protect young birds from intruders.

The Pacific Series

A classic birdhouse design embellished with driftwood recovered from local Oregon beaches. Almost all driftwood is covered with a grey coating of sand and grime, sometimes very deep into the wood. But, once sanded to uncover the underlying wood it can become very beautiful. I like to leave part unfinished for the before and after contrast.
